Context
A state university of Nicaragua wants to create a PhD program in Animal Science.
The NGO “Universitaires sans frontières /Academics Without Borders” — USF/AWB — is actively working to promote university cooperation with higher education institutions in all countries. This concerns research, the setting up of new departments, teaching, distance training, relations with the professional sectors… These collaborations help to strengthen the expertise and skills of partner universities.
Details
This university is specialized on soil management, plant science, forest resources and tropical animal production. It has a research group with few PhD holders. In order to strengthen its activity, it wants to set up a PhD program in tropical animal production.
Collaborators
Interested volunteers must be full university professors having a big experience in PhD supervision in those domains. Previous heads of PhD schools will be appreciated. Fluency in Spanish is not mandatory but will be a bonus.
His/her role will be to establish doctoral training program (research methodologies, writing dissertations, knowledge about the scientific community, economic and international partnerships, links with university administration, etc.).
A week-long visit in Nicaragua must be envisioned.
